Sheet 1: Calculation Options
LAST RESORT FTE CALCULATOR
OPTION #1 | ||||||||
If you have the number of credit hours, use the Academic FTE Chart. (Open FTE tab.)
(This chart is based on the information found at
https://www.ohio.edu/provost/apaa/overloads.cfm.)
OPTION #2 | ||||||||
If you do not have the credit hours, determine the FTE by the amount of time or effort
expected for the payment.
Example: You are paying someone $2,500 to work on a project for the department. You plan to
have them work 20 hours a week for a 10 week period (April 8 to June 14).
Calculation: | 20 hours/40 hours in a week = .50
10 weeks work/17 weeks in a semester = .59
The FTE would be the .50 x .77 = .29
Change only the yellow boxes to calculate the FTE.
20 | \ | 40 | = | 0.5 | ||||
Hours | Hrs per week | |||||||
10 | \ | 17 | = | 0.59 | ||||
weeks worked | wks in semester
0.5 | x | 0.59 | = | 0.29 | ||||
