CER will not accept data from overseas entities – only from Australian manufacturers or importers with an Australian Business Number with inverters on the CEC’s approved list Australian importers are nominated by overseas manufacturers and registered with the CEC as a ‘nominated importer’ of approved solar PV modules and/or inverters • What inverter data is required? Data from products that were available in the Australian market from 12 months ago (1 April 2021) Brand, model, serial number, status and reason in .CSV format CER will implement an application programming interface (API) over coming months to facilitate data upload • Initial data upload activities Manufacturers/importers with large amounts of data are encouraged to upload data early (before 1 April 2022) Flexibility will be provided to enable time during April to upload initial large sized data sets 5 Solar Manufacturer Webinar Guidance for solar panel manufacturers/importers • How to upload solar panel serial number data Step by step guide to open a CER Client Portal account and upload data – for manufacturers/importers not in the SPV Initiative Step by step guide to open a CER Client Portal account and upload data – for verification service providers in the SPV Initiative o Verification service providers are known as ‘CER nominated persons’ under the new regulations, they provide data on behalf of solar panel manufacturers/importers that participate in the SPV Initiative • What to look out for / keep in mind when providing data You should provide your solar panel serial number data as soon as your product enters Australia and/or becomes available for sale in the Australian market Continue to provide your data to the CER directly or via your verification service provider (in the SPV Initiative) If you don’t provide your data to CER, this will indicate non-compliance with section 20AD of the regulations and puts your approved product(s) at risk of becoming declared ineligible for STCs. 6
