DANGEROUS GOODS HANDLING HRDF AWARENESS TRAINING Claimable Date: 18 February, 2021 Time: 9.00 am—5.00 pm Venue: Remote Online Training Platform : ZOOM INTRODUCTION The rolling waves, glassy or frosty ice we see on the ocean’s surface hide an amazing variety of underwater worlds – from sunlit coral reefs to dark abyssal canyons, from forests of giant kelp to mussel communities clustered around scorching hydrothermal vents, from tidal mangroves to the vast open ocean. Vast amount of DG are transported by sea. A global standard for classifying, packing and stowage is contained in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) and International Air Transportation Associations (IATA) of which cargo moves by air. As an importer and exporter, our responsibilities are to ensure all DG materials will be attained safely at all time. OBJECTIVES More and more organizations are involved in dangerous or hazardous materials in their manufacturing flows. All dangerous goods which are used in manufacturing especially imported materials have to undergo severe international standard in order to be protected from environmental contamination. Such activities have been established by the United Nation and being used internationally. As a manufacturer, the procedures of importing and handling of dangerous goods are critically important and this program has been designed to expose participants of international requirement and the implementation. The organization shall follow accordingly in order to avoid catastrophic situation which involves environment. REGISTRATION Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. Cheques made in favour of the “FMM Institute” should be forwarded one week before the commencement of the programme. Completed registration form, that is faxed, mailed or e-mailed to FMM Institute, would be deemed as confirmed. Certificate will be issued upon full payment. REPLACEMENT / CANCELLATION All cancellations must be made in writing. There will be no charge for cancellation received 10 or more working days before the start of the programme. Cancellation received 6 – 9 working days before the start of the programme is subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the course fees. Cancellation received 5 working days and below before the start of the programme is subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of the course fees. If the participant fails to attend the programme, the full course fees are payable. However, replacement can be accepted at no additional cost. The FMM Institute reserves the right to change the facilitator, reschedule or cancel the programme and all efforts will be taken to inform participants of the changes. He provides consultancy on logistics competency and performance measurement to various customers in Malaysia. In addition, he is also a freelance/part-time lecturer which provides courses in certificate, diploma, degree in logistics and supply chain management. He has more than 15 years of experience in the logistics area, gained through his work stint in manufacturing, logistics service providers, setting up new manufacturing plants, six sigma champion projects, implementation of supply chain management, setting up 3PL logistics management and liaison with Malaysian Customs, MIDA and MITI. He has also assisted clients to improve their supply chain manage- ment and develop the integrated logistics systems, stock level reduction, improve the purchasing and inventory management performance and enhance cus- tomer service standards. He has given lectures and was a speaker on logistics management, warehousing, purchasing, distribution, customer service and stra- tegic planning at seminars held in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, and Penang. In addition he has conducted in-house training programmes related to logistics and supply chain management. He holds a MBA in Logistics Management from University Industry Selangor (UNISEL) and degree in Bachelor of So- cial Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Currently he is pursuing PhD in Supply Chain Management.
