1. The shipper accepts that carrier is not liable for any loss, damage or expense arising from death due to natural
causes, or death or injury of any animal caused by the conduct or acts of the live animal itself or of other animals,
such as biting, kicking, goring, or smothering, nor for that caused or contributed to by the conditions, nature, or
propensities of the animals.
2. The shipper certifies that the live animals (including pets) are deemed fit to travel by a competent veterinarian and
carrier is not liable for illness, injury, or death due to underlying medical conditions that may be aggravated during
transport. The shipper understands that Delta has the final decision on whether a shipment is accepted. If the
booking specifications have changed or the shipment does not comply with carrier's current policies, Delta has the
right to deny the shipment.
3. The shipper gives Delta consent to fully investigate the cause of illness, injury, or death of an animal during
transport, including, without limitation, transporting animal(s) to receive veterinary medical care and the
performance of a necropsy.

Instructions for shippers are given in Chapters 1. 7, 8,9.10 and 11 of the IATA Live Animals Regulations. Before
any shipment containing live animals is tendered for transport by air, the shipper must ensure that:
• The animals being tendered for transportation are not prohibited by any applicable national, state or local governments.
• All required export, import, and/or transit health certificates, licenses and permits, etc. are accompanying the shipment.
• The animal shipments are properly classified, described, packed, marked, and labeled.
• The IATA Shipper's Certification for Live Animals has been properly and fully completed.
• Pregnant animals may not be tendered for transportation without official veterinary certificate certifying that the animals are fit to
travel and that there is no risk of birth occurring during the entire journey (Note: Pregnant monkeys, nursing females with suckling
young and un-weaned animals are not accepted for air transport.)
• Animals that have given birth in the last 48 hours before the start of the journey may not be tendered for transportation.
• The animals have been properly prepared for transportation (see specific container requirements for further information).
• The animal is not tranquillized without veterinary approval and supervision.
• The consignee has been advised of the flight details in order to arrange immediate collection upon arrival.
• A 24-hour phone number that the air carrier can use to obtain instructions from the shipper or his/her agent in the event of an
emergency, and such information is written on the Air Waybill.
