Notes/instructions

1. The Minority Language Fellow - Budget 1 should be filled in by the minority-language fellowship applicant.

2. For journalists who are employed by a minority-media outlet, the salary as a rule will be reimbursed directly to the employer. Exceptions will need to be justified.

3. If the fellowship is in-person, please provide an expected daily lump sum (single amount) that covers accommodation, subsistence, and local travel. This amount should be reasonable based on the average costs of the location of the fellowship.

4. Other costs necessary to carry out the fellowship, according to the specific needs/circumstances. Hardware/equipment costs cannot be covered.

5. If the fellowship is in-person, please fill in the estimated cost for travelling to the fellowship location (e.g., airfare or train cost). The travel cost is covered separately, so the €6,000 limit does not apply. Air and train travel for in-person fellowships will be booked in most cases directly by IPI or MIDAS. Only economy-class travel will be covered. Travel by car may also be covered, subject to standard km rates, including tolls.

6. Additional costs can be, for example: relevant administrative costs or costs necessary to carry out a particular project (e.g., local travel costs or research costs). Hardware/equipment costs cannot be covered.

Important note: Grantees will be asked to keep detailed documentation (e.g., receipts) of their spending for three years and will be required to provide them upon request. Details will be provided in the grant agreement.
