      + 2 Day Field trip
                                       Investment Fee : IDR 24.000.000,- / participant
The course fee includes meals (2x coffee break and lunch), training kits, training materials, group
photograph, certificate. In order to allow sufficient time for arranging travel and processing document,
participants are recommended to make an early enrollment.
      About The Course

Stratigraphy Sequence is one of the stratigraphic method which used in oil and gas industry, both as a basic concept
for exploration and development. At the stage of development, understanding the distribution and connectivity of
reservoir in parasequence correlation framework is a challenge and an opportunity for geologists to find a new
reserve and increase oil and gas production.
This course, will be discussed about stratigraphic terminology, the concept of sea-level fluctuations as a basic concept
of sequence stratigraphy, Development of Sequence model from pas until now, and the method of identification
sequence boundary line, parasequence, and system tracks which is accompanied with some cases in region of
      western Indonesia.
Objective of this course is to improve the understanding about the concept, the relationship between sea-level
fluctuations and the genesis of rocks, patterns of accumulation of layers of rock in the basin, and the goal is to
improve the skills of stratigraphic analysis primarily stratigraphic models in the exploration stage and the
development of oil and gas fields. This course will provide enhanced capabilities to the interpretation of reservoir
distribution in terms of the correlation sequence / parasequence
At the end of the integrated course participants will be able to:
      Identify stratigraphic sequences
      Interpret seismic reflection geometries
 Relate sequence stratigraphy to basin architecture, relative sea levels and histor
      Build predictive stratigraphic model
      You Will Learn
 Introduction. The relationship between sea-level fluctuations and Clastic Sedimentation rocks /
      carbonate, and terminology in Sequencestratigraphy.
 Sequence Stratigraphy Models. Sequence stratigraphy concept began with the advent of Seismic
stratigraphiy Concept (1977), followed by Sequence stratigraphy Concept (1987/1988), Sequence
stratigraphy Genetic Model (1988), Relationship Model between ‘Accomodation Space’ vs. Sedimentation
      velocity, and a sequence transgression-regression model (2002).
 Parasequence Concept. As with any concept of sequence, the concept Parasequence also evolved with the
presence of concepts: Shallowing Upward, PAC’s, genesis unit, Parasequence of Van Wagoner et al (1991),
Parasequence of Allen and Pasamentier (1994), forwarded to the Correlation of Parasequence or Hires.
 Exercise. To understand the concept, it is required exercises and interactive discussion.
Exercises in this course including analysis of:
              1. Seismic stratigraphy
              2. Parasequence / sequence based on Well-Log
iii. Parasequence / sequence based on the ‘core’ as an example of one method of analysis
     sequence stratigraphy
     Who Should Attend
Geologists, geophysicists, biostratigraphers and engineers (with some knowledge of geology) needing a
fundamental understanding of the principles and applications of sequence stratigraphy.
     About Instructor

Dr. Ir. H. Djuhaeni is a lecturer at the Department Geology, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB).
He received Doctor degree in Sedimentology and Stratigraphy at Lyon-1 University, France. He
is the author of Sandi Stratigrafi Indonesia (SSI). In ITB he taught Sedimentology and
Stratigraphy, Clastic Sedimentation, Sequence Stratigraphy and Stratigraphic Analysis. He
maintains his sedimentology and stratigraphy by actively publishing his research in national
and International Jurnals. He is an active member in various organization which contribute in Sedimentolgy
such as Society for Sedimentary Geology (SEPM), International Association of Sedimentologist (IAS) and
     Indonesian Sedimentologist Forum (FOSI).
Cancellation, Substitution & Non Attendance Policy
Tuition fees are trasferable but not refundable. Notification is required to substitute another participant, no later 5
working days prior to the program, should the nominated person be unable to attend. Late cancellation sometimes
causes event to be abandoned. Non attendance participant will be full charged as all preparations will have been done.
