Call for Papers From Geometry to Fabrication in Architecture Guest Editors: Vesna Stojaković and Bojan Tepavčević Geometry of complex shapes has always played an important role in architecture and the process of building construction. From the first vaults over the stereotomic shells to the digitally fabricated architecture understanding logic of geometry in the process of construction and fabrication was crucial. Recent development of computational design tools enable easier creation of complex shapes which might be challenging for the manufacturing and hence additionally increases the importance of relationship between geometry and fabrication in the design process. Novel design methods such as fabrication-aware design, structurally informed design, material based design reflect increased interest towards creating new relations between geometry and fabrication in architecture. The objective of this special edition is to examine different relationships between geometry, architecture and fabrication. How can we efficiently fabricate complex geometric shapes in architecture? How can architectural design be enhanced through the connection of geometry and material constraints? Can we use fabrication tools to develop new language of geometric forms? Researchers, designers and builders are invited to submit articles on the relationship between geometry and fabrication process in architecture addressing these and similar questions and objectives. Topics: geometry in architectural practice; fabrication of complex shapes in architecture; digital models and methods for architectural fabrication; computational design for architectural fabrication; shape optimization problems; geometry in material based design. Guidelines for manuscript preparation can be found on the NNJ website: https://www.nexusjournal.com/for- authors/submission-guidelines.html Submission does not guarantee publication; all submissions will be peer‐reviewed before being considered for publication. Reviews of appropriate books and exhibits are also welcome. CFP Announcement: 1 June 2022 Deadline for submissions for peer review: 1 December 2022 Notification of reviewer comments: 1 March 2023 Deadline for submission of final revised manuscript: 1 June 2023 Submissions should be made via the NNJ Editorial Manager platform (https://www.editorialmanager.com/nenj/default.aspx).
