USAID Advancing Nutrition Ghana The Agency’s Flagship Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Project Bawku Bawku West Tempane Sissala Sissala Garu Overview West East East Mamprusi Daffiama-Bussie-Issa USAID Advancing Nutrition is the United States Nadowli-Kaleo Wa East Karaga Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Gushegu Mamprugu-Moagduri Nanton flagship multi-sectoral nutrition project, led by Yendi Sagnarigu Mion JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), and a diverse group of experienced partners. Launched in September 2018, USAID Advancing Nutrition implements nutrition interventions across sec- tors and disciplines for USAID and its partners. The project’s multi-sectoral approach draws together global nutrition experience to design, implement, and evaluate programs that address the root causes of malnutrition. Our Work in Ghana USAID Advancing Nutrition provides technical support and assessment services to advance the Government of Ghana’s efforts to improve district planning for the equitable delivery of services that promote household resilience and PROJECT PERIOD early childhood growth and development. We June 2020–September 2022 work in 17 districts in four regions: Northern, Upper East, Upper West, and North East. The WHERE WE WORK project has five objectives: Northern Region Objective 1: Strengthen multi-sectoral Gushegu Nanton coordination of food and nutrition security at Karaga Sagnarigu national and district levels. Mion Yendi Objective 2: Strengthen multi-sectoral North East Region planning and implementation of food and Manprugu-Moagduri East Mamprusi nutrition security in 17 districts. Objective 3: Improve budgeting and Upper East Region financing for food and nutrition security in Bawku Garu 17 districts. Bawku West Tempane Objective 4: Strengthen quality and reach of Upper West Region nutrition service delivery. Daffiama Bussie Issa Sissala West Objective 5: Increase local government Nadowli-Kaleo Wa East engagement with community structures to Sissala East promote improved nutrition behaviors.
