Sheet 1: 1. Business Case - Notes
SALIX ENERGY EFFICIENCY LOANS SCHEME - BUSINESS CASE APPROVAL FOR PROJECTS OVER £100,000 |
As outlined in the Application Notes, for individual projects valued over £25,000, the client is required to support the application with saving calculations, internal business case paper work and evidence of cost basis. |
In addition, if you are completing a voltage management project over £25,000 then you will also need to complete the voltage management load mix tool. |
For individual project costs in excess of £100,000 then clients are asked to submit a formal business case to Salix Finance for approval prior to proceeding. |
Process: |
1. Complete an application form and project compliance tool |
2. Complete the Business Case - Application as comprehensively as you can. |
3. Submit the completed Business Case - Application, Application for Funding and Project Compliance Tool to the SEELS team |
4. A member of the SEELS team will complete the Business Case - SEELS Review to check the application is ready for assessment. |
5. Salix Finance's external consultants will undertake a Business Case - Assessment. (Note: This may require additional information or personal contact with the consultant.) |
6. If the Business Case is approved, then we can proceed with the Commitment Letter |
7. If the Business Case is not approved, you may be able to submit additional information or a revised Business Case - Application. |
Instructions: |
1. Please read and familiarise yourself with the Business Case - Application and the Business Case - Assessment before completing the former. |
2. If you have any questions about the process or what is required in the application, please contact a member of the SEELS team. |
3. If it is not possible to answer a question, please provide a reason. |
4. Include any relevant documentation in the form of embedded documents or as attachments. |
5. Show all relevant working and calculations. |
6. Give details of all references and sources of information used in the application. |
7. Email the completed application to SEELS support. |

(1) kWh pa – annual energy consumption in kWh |

(3) Derivation – e.g. estimate or meter readings |
(4) Fuel type – e.g. Electricity, Gas, Oil. If multiple fuel types are involved please list here and provide a full breakdown separately. |
(5) tCO2 pa – annual tonnes of carbon dioxide (figure from current Compliance Tool) |
(6) £/tCO2LT – pounds per tonnes of carbon dioxide lifetime (figure from current Compliance Tool) |
(7) Energy/Carbon Monitoring Plan for after completion of the project. |
(8) Include any and all relevant costs – e.g. project management |
(9) Please confirm if there are no maintenance costs. |
