2023 Scholarship Information Scholarships ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Introduction Thank you for your interest in Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School’s scholarship program for the 2023 school year. Each year Lindisfarne offers a limited number of scholarships, under the following categories: ● Academic Scholarships - Entry in Year 5, Year 7, Year 9 and Year 11. ● General Excellence Scholarships - Entry in Year 7, Year 9 and Year 11. ● Music Scholarships - Entry in Year 7, Year 9 and Year 11. ● Sports Scholarships - Entry in Year 7, Year 9 and Year 11. Scholarships offered by Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School are awarded after the School receives the results of the Edutest Scholarship Exam to be held on Saturday, 19 February 2022. Lindisfarne scholarships are offered on the basis of that Exam plus the student’s portfolio and an interview (if required) with the Principal or his delegate. Scholarships are offered for the duration of the students’ education at Lindisfarne, subject to a satisfactory annual review. This review is conducted for all scholarship recipients. Scholarship amounts can vary, with up to 75% off the tuition component of the school fee account. This is at the discretion of the Principal, supported by a panel review. Students who receive the benefit of a scholarship are expected to fully participate in the life of the School and to undertake curriculum and co-curricular studies and opportunities in support of their scholarship. Applications STEP 1. Carefully read this document. STEP 2. Register for the Edutest Scholarship Exam - Edutest Registration Link. Scholarship applications close at 5.00pm AEDT on Friday, 11 February 2022. No late applications can be accepted. The cost of the Edutest Scholarship Exam is $100.00 per student. Please note: you will need to record the Edutest registration number e.g. A123456 as this is required for your Scholarship Application. STEP 3. All applicants should then complete the Scholarship Application Form on the Scholarships page of the Lindisdarne website and upload all requested supporting documentation. STEP 4. New students must also complete a general application for enrolment - Enrolment Application. STEP 5. Attend the scholarship exam held at the Mahers Lane campus of Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School on Saturday, 19 February 2022. Should a student not be able to attend the exam on Saturday, 19 February, no alternative testing will be permitted. Specific Scholarship Requirements Academic Scholarships Students are required to undertake the independent academic examination (EduTest). A high level of academic ability is required. Students should support their application with evidence of academic achievement. General Excellence Scholarships Students are required to take the independent academic examination (EduTest) and submit evidence of their areas of strength via a portfolio outlining a high level in at least three of the following interest areas: ● Academic Achievement ● Leadership ● Community Involvement ● Music ● Creative Arts ● Speech/Drama ● Sport — representative or state level ● Other, supporting documentation required. Sport Scholarships Students are required to take the independent academic examination (EduTest) combined with submission of portfolio evidence of sporting achievement. Please note that students who receive a sports scholarship do not gain automatic entry to the Lindisfarne Sports Academy. Music Scholarships Students are required to undertake the independent academic examination (EduTest) to a satisfactory level. Students will need to provide evidence of their current level of music ability and maybe invited by the Director of Performing Arts for an audition. Scholarship Day Information The Edutest Scholarship Exam is conducted at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, 86 Mahers Lane, Terranora NSW. Students must be signed in at the Chapel (follow directional signage) promptly between 8.45am - 9.00am NSW daylight savings time. Parents can remain on site if required, see below. Parents are to collect students from the Chapel at 12.00pm NSW daylight saving time. Students may dress in comfortable casual clothing and footwear and do not have to wear their current school uniform. Students are required to bring the following items on the day: • Two 2B or HB pencils. • Black or blue pen. • Eraser. • Sharpener. • Morning tea and a drink (in a clearly named bag). All examination equipment must be in a clear pencil case or the equivalent. Edutest Examination For Edutest scholarship enquiries, including information on purchasing practice tests, please visit the Edutest websiteor contact Edutest General Enquiries on 03 9014 1411 or info@edutest.com.au Music Scholarship Information Applicants for a Music Scholarship who have been requested to audition will undertake this at the end of the written examinations on Saturday, 19 February 2022. The audition time for the student will be emailed to parents once applications have closed. Students will be required to prepare two contrasting pieces of no longer than three minutes per piece and should be prepared to undertake a short sight-reading test and some aural testing. No accompanist is required for auditions. Results and Notification Following the examination, the Scholarship Panel led by the Principal will review all scholarship applications. Parents will receive a copy of the Edutest Exam Results for their student. Applicants will be notified via email of the outcome of the scholarship by the end of Term 1, 2022. Scholarships are finalised following an interview with the Principal or delegate.
