II GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ COMPETITION General Knowledge helps an individual learn and introspect themselves to the fullest which is way beyond the bookish understanding. It develops children's social, sensitive, reasoning, and analytical thinking skills. Putting light on these key elements, the Bansa Community Library have come up with the initiative of organizing quiz competitions once in every four months. These series of quiz competitions have seemed to be highly intriguing for the children. We start by announcing the date of the quiz competition and starting that day we put questions and bullet points related to the GK quiz to be held in our library bulletin board till the day of the quiz competition. By our observations, this small step has tremendously increased the attendance of the children and made them genuinely interested in it. On 5th September, 2021, the Bansa Community Library came up with yet another interesting GK Quiz competition which received a very overwhelming response from the number of people and children who attended it with keen interest. We'd like to pay our sincere appreciation and thanks to the organisation "Sampurna Shiksha" for helping and supporting us throughout the journey of our library and sponsoring our second quiz competition. The event was a huge success as a total of 109 children participated in this competition out of which 21 children were from a nearby library named 'Gram Sudhar Pustakalaya, Terwa'. The dedication of the children to attend this event was commendable as a kid travelled 30kms with her father to attend this quiz session. Another group of 21 kids travelled 11kms in their bicycles to reach the library as well. As the event commenced, the children were divided into three groups with 35 students in each. The division of the groups were based on the grades they were studying so the first group consisted of the students from Class 5 to Class 8, the second group consisted of students from Class 9 to Class 12 and the third group was for the students of Class 12 and above. Three winners were chosen from each group, respectively. This quiz competition was concluded with the felicitation of the winners by Raghvendra Pratap Singh, Review Office, Review Officer, UP Secretariat who also secured Rank 1 in UP in RO Exam, 2016. Moreover, on the occassion of Teacher's Day, Praveen Kumar, a teacher from a junior school in the village of Bansa, gave a very astonishing speech about the importance of Teacher's Day and also enlightened the children about how on the remembrance of the great teacher, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, we celebrate this day to appreciate the hardwork of all the teachers. The quiz event was indeed a very insightful one which deeply compelled the children to learn something new. Nikhita For Bansa Community Library 10th September, 2021.
