July 2022 DepEd Data Bits: Learning Delivery Modalities SY 2021-2022 The different learning strategies and modalities were devised as part of the Basic Education - Learning Continuity Plan which covers essential requirements of education in the time of COVID-19. The modalities adopted by the schools since SY 2020-2021 depended on the local COVID-19 situation and access to the learning platforms. This fact sheet provides information on the status of the use of learning modalities in different sectors and levels of basic education. Learners who are homeschooling also declined 15M by 19.01% or a total of 5,192 learners. Region III The number of learners under the Blended Learning incurred the Region IV-A highest increase at 38.63% or over 1M learners from SY 2020-2021 to SY 2021-2022. Learners under Radio-Based Instruction, MDL 10M Region IV-B (Digital) and ODL also increased by 30.40% (18,667), 22.75% (123,643), and 8.21% (159,786), respectively. Of this number, 14,977,991 are from the public sector; 8,757,957 from the BARMM private sector; 3,828,713 from SUCs/LUCs and 17,912 from PSOs. CAR The Department of Education (DepEd) started to implement the distance learning set-up in SY 2020-2021 due to the threat of COVID-19. Numerous efforts have already been undertaken by the Department under this Program which is an education framework that anchors to the infrastructure, software and capacity building of learners and teachers in technology.
