                                        (w.e.f. 2017-18 admitted batch) 
                  
                 Duration and Class Schedule 
                  
                       This course is offered for three months, with two batches in an 
                       academic year.
                 
                       Duration: 3 Months. 3 sessions, of two hours each from 3 pm - 
                       5 pm, per week, that is 6 hours per week.
                 
                       The  classes  are  conducted  at  GITAM  School  of  Gandhian 
                       Studies, GITAM (Deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam 
                       Campus.
                 
                       Class Schedule: Classes shall be conducted on three week days 
                       from 3 pm - 5 pm (6 hours per week).
                 
                       Total number of hours is 72 hours.
                  
                 Eligibility 
                  
                       The participants must have completed Intermediate or 10+2 in 
                       any stream.
                  
                 Teaching Faculty 
                  
                     Internal / External Faculty of Centre for Languages, GITAM 
                     School  of  Gandhian  Studies,  GITAM  (Deemed  to  be 
                     University), Visakhapatnam Campus.
                  
                 Evaluation Procedure 
                     The course shall have two components of evaluation:
                      Continuous evaluation of 20 marks, comprising of quizzes, 
                             assignments, etc., covering all the four modules; 
                       Final Examination of 80 marks, comprising of – 
                                        Written Examination: 
                             Module 1  – 15 marks 
                             Module II – 15 marks 
                             Module III – 15 marks 
                             Module IV – 15 marks Total: 60 marks. 
                                        Oral Examination of 20 marks, covering all four 
                                        modules. 
                       
                Final  Score  for  100  Marks  shall  be  calculated  for  the 
                     continuous evaluation and final examination; and grade 
                     shall be as per the grading system below.
             
            Grading System 
             
                Based on the student’s performance a final letter grade will be 
                     awarded at the end of the certificate course. The letter 
                     grades and the corresponding grade points are as given in 
                     Table

                      grade) in the final exam and continuous evaluation put 
                      together, is declared to have successfully completed the

                                                         COURSE OUTCOMES 
                                                     By the end of the course, students shall be able to: 
                                                                                             To  substantially  improve  their  reading,  writing, 
                                                                                             listening and speaking abilities in Hindi.
                                                                     To master the basic Hindi alphabet and vocabulary for day to 
                                                                                       day personal and professional reading and writing.
                                                                    To focus on grammar, basics of sentence building and usage of 
                                                                                       phrases and sentences in varied situations.
                                                                    To make use of the dialogue section to build up grammar and 
                                                                                       vocabulary  and  to  improve  their  speaking  and  listening 
                                                                                       abilities in real life professional and personal situations.
                                                    
                                                   COURSE JUSTIFICATION AND OBJECTIVE 
                                                   The Centre for Languages has been established with the aim of 
                                                   promoting  knowledge  of  Indian  and  foreign  languages  and 
                                                   literatures, especially among the younger generation. The crucial 
                                                   role  of  language  skills  in  personal  and  professional  life  is 
                                                   universally proven. In the contemporary era of globalization, it has 
                                                   become  imperative  to  be  proficient  in  both  native  and  foreign 
                                                   languages.  Therefore,  with  the  objective  of  equipping  students 
                                                   with  the  vital  communication  skills  to  succeed  in  the  highly 
                                                   competitive international arena, the Centre for Languages proposes 
                                                   to offer a range of Indian and Foreign language programmes. 
                                                    
                                                   The  Certificate  Course  in  Hindi  is  one  of  the  Centre’s  Indian 
                                                   language  courses.  Offered  by  experienced  trainers,  the  course 
                                                   focuses on the national language, enhances cultural development 
                                                   and also opens the doors to professional success right from the
