Report on A workshop on Hindi Learning It is impossible for India to progress without Hindi. The present day nomenclature/term of Hindi language includes more than 250 mother tongues, creating a statistical majority. It is spoken of the population of 62.22% of mother tongues clustered under it as a language. It is used as a second language by 21.60% and as a third language by 14%, totalling to 97.98% of the entire population of India. Hindi crosses the magic figure of the definition of majority, a language with more than 95% of the population of India, in the 2011 Census. As India and Hindi are growing in the importance in world with more content on the web, e- commerce and growing consumer market; use of Hindi is inevitable for international trade. To reach largest market in the world Hindi should be learned. Hindi speaking neighbour is bound to love you more if you could communicate with them in Hindi. Learning Hindi will help you fully embrace the culture of Hindi with exotic Indian poetry, literature, wisdom, belief system, and philosophy. Hindi is one of the official language of communication in central government of India. India’s growth seems unstoppable and shows no sign of slowing down. Companies that eye operational and sales expansion in the South Asia region are mostly recruiting people who are familiar about Indian culture and who could articulately and fluently speak and write Hindi. Feeling the importance of Hindi language social as well as economical point of view Mathabhanga College organized a workshop on Hindi Learning for the students. The workshop continues for three days (9th March to 12th March, 2019). The workshop was inaugurated by the president, Sri Bimal Kr. Barman. He said in his speech that this type of workshop will be very fruitful. Dr. Dibakar Dutta, Teacher-in-Charge, Mathabhanga College, in his inaugural speech mentioned that India is a multilingual country yet Hindi language has its importance in its place. Students should have an understanding in this language. Students engaging in that workshop would be enriched to some extent. Dr. S.K. Jha, Senior teacher, dept. of Sanskrit, was impressed by the presence of the students in that workshop. He said that students were too much self motivated and definitely the workshop will bring good result. Dr. Amit Kundu, Coordinator, IQAC, economic importance of Hindi learning. He said that by learning Hindi language aspirants could get a job. He also said that without giving importance to Indian national language India could not be prosperous. One should respect Indian soil and culture and this attitude will make India more and more productive and unique. In that three days workshop Dr. Susil Kr. Suman, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, CBPBU, Ms. Rita Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, CBPBU, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Hindi, CBPBU taught our students very Internal Quality Assessment Cell, Mathabhanga College efficiently. Participants learned a lot. The workshop ended by distributing certificates to the participants.
